What is this thing called HABITUDES??
January 23, 2021
Northwestern Jr/Sr High School is introducing our newest Leadership Development program called Habitudes created by Tim Elmore and Growing Leaders. Since its inception, Growing Leaders has created more than 40 leadership training resources, partnered with over 8,000 schools and organizations to train young leaders and mentored more than 500,000 students. Some of Growing Leaders partnerships include The U.S Department of Justice, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, The National FFA Organization, the University of Alabama, Purdue University, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest University, and the Georgia Department of Education among many others.
You may hear your student talking about 'Iceberg' or 'Golden Buddha' and wonder what they are talking about. What is this thing called "HABITUDES". Habitudes helps middle and high school students:
*Develop habits of self-discipline and initiative
*Implement time management skills to do what really counts
*Plan for personal growth outside the classroom
*Identify their unique strengths and passions for a healthy self- image
And many more social and emotional and leadership skills. In the upcoming semester teachers and staff are sharing images and their meanings with students at NW Jr/SrHigh School. In an effort to include our parents and community we will be sharing 'Home Chats' on our Facebook page and Northwestern CUSD #2 Website.
