Dear Parent/Guardian,
On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, Northwestern Jr/Sr high school was made aware of a post on social media made by someone who is not a student at Northwestern. Northwestern administrators immediately reported this to the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department.
We understand situations such as this are concerning to parents, students, and the greater community. We want you to be aware that the administration at Northwestern has exercised extreme diligence and taken all proper actions required by law and in the best interests of our students and faculty.
We have increased our security and the Macoupin County Sheriff Department will be present on campus as a precaution. We will continue to work in partnership with law enforcement to maintain a safe, learning atmosphere.
Due to the fact that this is now in the hands of law enforcement, we cannot comment on the matter. We ask for your patience as we strive to respect the integrity of the investigation.
